The Witch Hunter
In Books
by Brad at 03:19 05/04/2009   (updated 03:20 05/04/2009)

I've given this book away 3 times now, The Witch Hunter by Bernard Knight.

Bernard Knight is a historian who has written (still writing?) a series of period piece murder mysteries centered around his main character, Crowner John. The Witch Hunter falls somewhere in the middle of this series, but is the first one that I read, and serves as a good introduction, unless you are one to want to seek out the first one and start from there (which I think is The Awful Secret).

Good depth and character development. Rich stories. These books are from my "Saltine Cracker" collection - the ones that I read to cleanse the palette between Sci-Fi's. And this series is particularly effective because they take contrastingly far "back" in time...
